How to stay Inspired by good Health and Well-being

In this day and age where many mainstream marketing outlets court those of the dominant unhealthy society, maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be a daily struggle.

We find this common among many striving to maintain focus on good health and physical fitness.

Like anything in life, we can often get bored doing the same thing every day. As a result, it’s natural to lose your drive and focus from time to time. It’s human nature.

We do have options and choices to avoid these pitfalls. Let’s discuss several ways to keep your health and fitness in good standing.

Consider Your Ambitions


First off, what exactly are ambitions? Simply put, ambitions are strong desires to do or achieve something that typically requires determination and hard work.

In life, it’s natural to get to a place of contentment and go on mental cruise control. This is something you should try to avoid because as time goes on it can become potentially detrimental to your overall success.

Furthermore, it’s important to consider what your ambitions are. Without knowing this, you could have all the aspirations in the world and just be running in place, not moving forward. The reason being is that ambitions and aspirations inspire us to work hard to achieve the goals we set in life.

It’s true that the greater the ambitions, the greater the chances you’ll achieve success and happiness.

Set New Goals


According to research conducted by the University of Scranton, 92 percent of people who set goals for the new year never actually achieve them.

Perhaps you were among the successful 8 percent before boredom kicked in, or you got sidetracked by an unexpected plateau. It’s not out of the ordinary to drop 10 to 15 pounds before noticing a freeze in numbers on the weight scale. This could be very discouraging.

Oftentimes, you’ll find that periodically setting new goals will keep you motivated and progressively moving forward. Maybe you should consider the following points the next time you think about goal setting:


  • Determine the goals.

  • Clarify each and write them down.

  • Make sure they’re attainable and set a date accordingly.

  • Meditate, pray and visualize daily.

  • Speak positive affirmations three times daily.

  • Record your progress.

  • Reflect and adjust as needed.

  • Stay positive.  

Be Positive

Having a positive outlook is important in helping keep your health and physical fitness in good standing.

Taking into account that the world is full of imperfections, we need to be able to accept and even embrace the bad days that come with the good ones.

So, what if you come up short of your goal by two pounds or if you had one too many cheat meals in a week? Understand that it’s not the end of the world and you have overcome far worse things and you’re still standing.

It’s important to pick up the pieces, continue to stay positive, and keep moving forward.  

Hold Yourself Accountable


The easiest thing to do is blame the world for your problems. Many find it convenient because it removes the self-burden of having to deal with reality and point fingers at others. This approach is often taken to justify one’s ill state of health.

I know many people diagnosed with diabetes or high blood pressure who blame their afflictions on genetics. But the irony of this is that they never seem to take into account all the junk food they may have consumed over the years.

Put another way: Unless you’re strapped to a restraint chair with a syringe stuck in your arm pumping loads of glucose and triglycerides into your body, you only have yourself to blame for your health.

Practice Good Habits and Discipline


Practicing good habits and discipline are two other elements to bear in mind. Undervaluing the significance could give rise to old routines ruining any success you’ve recently achieved.

Years ago prior to my first relapse, I got to a point where I had developed a nonchalant attitude toward a lot of the food I began eating. As time went on, the discipline vanished and consequently I gained back 50 of the pounds I originally lost.

It’s only natural to fall off the wagon in the absence of good habits and discipline. In fact, it’s inevitable. So remember, your state of good health and fitness will continue as long as you practice good habits and self-discipline.

Despite today’s challenges, striving to keep your health and fitness in good standing is indeed doable.
